One of the secrets of my entrepreneurial success has been the fact I sought out a mentor and joined a business mastermind community. Just last week I spent 3 days in San Diego with my peeps to assess, adjust, and create new goals for my business.
Within the mastermind, I have developed business partnerships, life-long friendships, and accountability partners. They have helped me to see where I’m getting in my own way and supported me to push through obstacles.
In fact, that’s me discussing new ideas with my fellow mastermind entrepreneurs Amy Andrews of Feel Good Again Health, Teena Evert of Ignite Love Now, and Anne Dickenson of Eye On Your Business. If you are looking to improve your health, find true love, or make more money in your business you must check out their work.
Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich is chock full of wisdom for entrepreneurs and results-driven individuals. One of his critical points is that successful people are not going it alone. Using the collective mind of other success-minded individuals pushes you toward greatness. He calls it the “Master Mind.”
“Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definitive purpose.” – Napoleon Hill
The concept of a mastermind is not new. It’s been around for ages. The power of collective thought cannot be denied. This is why so many successful entrepreneurs engage in an organized mastermind group.
It is when we put our energies together that the power of multiple minds can create and achieve results otherwise unattainable when working alone. My participation in the Sales Authenticity and Success Mastermind has grown my business much faster than if I tried to figure it out on my own. How? Let me show you 5 ways:
Pushes you beyond your comfort zone
It’s never easy to push yourself outside your own comfort zone. That’s why we call it a “comfort” zone. But when you are in the presence of other successful individuals who can guide you and push you gently, you have a secret weapon on your hands. Encouragement can come from many angles. Your mastermind community is focused on a purpose and will support you in that path – especially when it feels uncomfortable to move forward and expand.
Percolate new ideas
One of the things I love most about working with my mastermind group is the ability to test out new ideas. We are all not necessarily in the same industry or business. But we do have a focus on growing our business in a leveraged manner. I can bring a new idea to the group and then get honest, real-time feedback on the concept, delivery method, and even ways to make it better.
Expands what is possible in your own mind
When you work alone, it’s easy to get caught up in your own thoughts and emotions. That’s when you have the tendency to play small. You can’t see beyond your own limitations. In a mastermind, that’s impossible! Together we lift one another to new heights and shatter preconceived limitations. We learn from other’s success and how to apply the concepts and methods to our own work to stand up and stand out.
Surround yourself with champions
The right mastermind group brings together like-minded individuals to attain a specific purpose. You become a member of the tribe. While you might be building your own following for your work, you too need a space to learn and grow. Choosing the mastermind that fits your goals, drive, priorities, and personality helps you to surround yourself with amazing entrepreneurs and business owners who share your passion for results. When you build a team of champions, you win.
Build life-long connections
For me, the most important result of joining a mastermind has been the new connections I established. New friendships have developed. I found an accountability partner to challenge me each week. The support network available to find resources, bounce off ideas, and learn new techniques is priceless. And I know that even when I move on from this mastermind, I will retain these powerful connections for years to come.
Are you participating in a mastermind community for your business? How might joining a mastermind help you to build and grow your business?
