The POWER in the Organization of Thought

The Power of Organization

The summer of 2016 has been hot, humid, and scattered with powerful storms across the country. Just a few days ago I sat watching bright streaks of lightning, listening to the loud crack and roar of the thunder over my home. Another one of the massive thunderstorms organized as part of the “Ridge Rider” storm system in the Midwest. Mother Nature is amazing in her creation and beautiful in her delivery.

In between the flickering of the lights in my office, I sat working on the outline of a new program for my business. Organizing my thoughts into an outline and breaking down the concepts into actionable strategies. When all of a sudden, a bolt of lighting stuck with such power, Lucy – my 12-½ year old puppy, who until then was sleeping through the storm – jolted awake and ran off into the bedroom.  After consoling her and getting her settled, I realized a powerful connection.

I’ve been re-reading Napoleon Hill’s classic Think and Grow Rich. One of the principles of his work is the organization of knowledge.

“General knowledge, no matter how great in quantity or variety it may be, is of but little use in the accumulation of money. Knowledge will not attract money, unless it is organized, and intelligently directed, through practical plans of action.”

The intensity of the storm Lucy and I were riding out was powerful because of its organization. The heat, moisture and wind organized in such a way to create a massive and severe thunderstorm. The storm would not have been as significant if one or more of the components were not brought together. It was in the collection and organization of the energy that created the spectacular show.

Now you’re wondering….how the heck does this have anything to do with growing my business?

It’s the organization and delivery of your knowledge, experience and talents that creates powerful results for your bottom line.

If you are constantly creating new presentations to deliver to prospects, you are missing the point of organized thought. Get focused on the outcome you provide to your clients. Then organize your immense knowledge in a way that is “intelligently directed, through practical plans of action.” This will let your clients easily see the benefit in working with you.

This organization of knowledge will allow you to stand out in your industry. Rise above all the noise. It isn’t a new concept. Heck – Mother Nature has it all figured out. If you want to make a massive impact and get noticed – organize your energy!
